1. LIFT OFF 3:39 shape size colour and sound/ write my name on the tag of my backpack / 16 kilos 200 grams / shape size colour and sound / it’s you and me now i whisper / as it vanishes through the flaps / shape size colour and sound / my new home now goes down the conveyor / passport stamped see you again on the other side. and i lift up into this new adventure / take off my shoes relax to some music / and i’m free / free as a travelling soul can be / yes i’m free. tones smells flavours and sights / let go of all i know / see the world through the eyes of a child / tones smells flavours and sights / tingling all my senses / market place in another world / tuk-tuks trucks buses and cars / rusty old mopeds buckling under the strain / tuk-tuks trucks buses and cars / a holy cow mid road / traffic zooming around it / see you again on the other side. and i lift up into this new adventure / take off my shoes relax to some music / and i’m free / free as a travelling soul can be / yes i’m free. in the sky i’m getting lost and found / you all look so tiny on the ground / feel a rush of freedom down my spine / and i follow my senses / and i’m free / free as a travelling soul can be / yes i’m free.

2. FORGET OR GO INSANE 3:46 switch off the light now i’m here gone tomorrow / a speck of dust in the wind / in this time-space that i’m in / now i’m here next to you i feel no sorrow / all these faces in my head / i call my family and friends. i’ll be gone tomorrow / fade into the sea / i’ll be gone tomorrow / when i’m gone i will see / how deep the rabbit hole goes / where time moves differently / we sit around a lot / feeling sorry endlessly / the world has lost it’s plot / and nature speaks our name / we forget it’s forget or go insane. spending time in the dark awake your senses / a speck of dust in this world / who am i to try and change it / when i’m here next to you / i feel no sorrow / all these faces in my head / i call my family and friends. i’ll be gone tomorrow / fade into the sea / i’ll be gone tomorrow / when i’m gone i will see / how deep the rabbit hole goes / where time moves differently / we sit around a lot / feeling sorry endlessly / the world has lost its plot / and nature speaks our name / we forget it’s forget or go insane.

3. LAZY MOUNTAIN GAZE 3:42 a lazy mountain gaze / at the snow peeks through the haze / i can feel the energy of nature / the earth can breathe out here / where the ground has not been paved / the air so fresh free as the day / a lazy mountain gaze / i feel it in my bones / the air so fresh / free as the day. a lazy mountain gaze / at the snow peeks through the haze / i can see the energy of nature / my visions clear out here / and my mind no longer chained / see my fears melting away / a lazy mountain gaze / i feel it in my bones / see my fears melting away. your silhouette in the sunlight / a bride in white walk the skyline / you’re high and i’m getting higher / lazy beauty himalaya / your silhouette in the sunlight / walk the sky like a bride in white / rising up you are still higher / virgin beauty himalaya / lost in a daze / in this lazy mountain gaze. a lazy mountain gaze / at the snow peeks through the haze / i can hear the energy of nature / my voice can heal out here / it speaks of all i want to hear / a melody of life so free.

4. BY THE GANGES RIVER 4:01 by the ganges river i sit and cry / all the pain of the world i see through my eyes/ all the suffering of the children / and the women and the men / who were born to be free just like me. by the ganges river i sit and cry / for my good fortune i wonder why? / i have everything i need / and yet i complain / am i free i ask you / am i free / am i free? singing / hay, what a crazy world we’re living in? / woah what a crazy world we’re living in? / by the ganges river i sit and sing / what a crazy world we’re living in? by the ganges river i sit and cry / baba came over and sat by my side / without asking me why / he looked in my eyes / and he cried / cried with me / yes he cried / singing / hay what a crazy world we’re living in? / woah what a crazy world we’re living in? / history repeating / we don’t learn a thing / what a crazy world we’re living in? he turned to speak / i swallowed my tears / salty words i could never hear / listening with my heart i could understand / a foreign tongue in an ancient land

about

TRAVELLING SOUL is a musical logbook of a journey through the cities and countryside of modern day india. the memories of the people, the sights and sounds, tastes and smells, the moments of joy and sorrow and the excitement of new experiences will transport you to another world. tamar combines the vibrance and colour of indian music with the traditions of folk storytelling to bring a collection of songs of wonder and melancholy. her textured rhythmic vocals and acoustic guitar dance along with the sitar, serenaded by the melodic flute, to the rhythmic tabla beats. her beautifully sentimental lyrics bring the ganges river to life, recreating scenes so vivid you feel as though you are there, sitting by her side. social commentary is a recurring theme, tamar’s insights into the fragility of life on this planet may make you want to forget or go insane, are our hands tied or can we make a difference? these songs travel along an inspirational path, the personal observations of a young woman travelling on a journey of self-discovery.
